If you believe there are certain things
one human being will not do to another
or that once done, no one could deny them,
go to Terezin. Go to Bergen-Belsen.
Because you were told to line up on the left, in a minute
your wife, children, parents, disappear. If you don't believe
one person can die again and again. Or that once dead, that's it, you're dead,
take a walk in Terezin. Take a walk in Bergen-Belsen.
Grown men weighing 80 pounds. Children
thrown likes logs on the fire. Look what goes up in smoke.
If you think it's bad taste to speak of these things,
breathe the air of Terezin. Breathe the air of Bergen-Belsen.
Because they took you from your home in the middle of the night.
Thousands of shoes piled and sorted. The shorn hair
used to stuff mattresses. Can anyone say: I live in a civilized country?
See the sights at Terezin. Sight see at Bergen-Belsen.
How the world changes. How it
goes on and on. It never happened.
It could never happen again. It could never happen here.
Spend the night in Terezin. Spend the night in Bergen-Belsen.
