Reciprocal Humanism

Vicki Stoddart

The petals of the rose loosen and fall
as the leaves become amber, red and orange
In autumn, the park bench is reminiscent of
the summer sun, sand and surf.

Ponderous of events of late the force
of words upon souls who hear is realized
Spring saw a beginning; summer a movement toward
action — albeit marked by the pitfalls of construction

Traveling the moguls of energy bridged two challenges
conflictual, insightful, each with a purpose and a timeframe
A summer solstice, storm and the kiss of a butterfly
simultaneous: visionary manifestation of action and outcome

The coolness of the sun reminds of deafening silence
yet comforts in its caress upon an upturned brow
The future is unwritten yet empowered through
Faith, hope, guidance and unconditional love

Just a the leaves glide down, dancing in rhythm
to the beat of an unseen drum
Hearts are peaceful, knowing that the future is
Now, mixed with belief, trust, forgiveness and communication

May all the steps to the top of the mountain
continue to be blessed, whole peaceful —- roger that
The climb is uneven and one can stumble; yet trek onward, upward
the outstretched hand of friendship strengthens, empowers, embraces

Together mankind can reach the pinnacle we all strive for
each by helping the other along the way
In season, without reason: in faith, reach out to guide
and the path to the top becomes clearer, attainable.
